How to Hire a Construction Team in Mozambique

Building or renovating a property means coordinating multiple trades — masons, carpenters, electricians, painters. Managing this well determines whether your project finishes on budget or spirals into costly delays.

Sequencing Trades Correctly

| Phase | Trade Needed | Common Mistake | |-------|-----------------|--------------------| | Foundation | Mason | Skipping proper curing time | | Structure | Mason, carpenter | Rushing before foundation sets | | Electrical rough-in | Electrician | Doing this after walls are finished | | Plumbing rough-in | Plumber | Coordinating with electrical to avoid conflicts | | Finishing | Painter, tiler | Starting before other trades finish their mess |

Why Sequencing Mistakes Cost the Most

Hiring a painter before electrical and plumbing rough-in is complete means repainting walls that get cut open later — sequencing errors are the most expensive, avoidable cost overruns in small construction projects.

Managing Multiple Escrow Payments

For multi-trade projects, structure separate escrow agreements per trade and phase rather than one lump payment — this lets you verify each phase before the next trade starts, catching problems early.

Coordinating Timing Between Workers

Verified workers with strong reputation scores are generally more reliable on timing commitments — but building buffer time between trade handoffs protects your project from the inevitable minor delays.

Working With a Lead Worker

For larger projects, consider hiring one experienced, highly-rated worker (often a mason or carpenter) to help sequence and coordinate other trades — their reputation and experience can substitute for hiring a formal project manager.
